This book outlines essential techniques in teaching speaking aimed particularly for EFL instructions and journal or thesis citations. Initially, this book is written owing to the less quantity of teaching techniques especially for spoken practices written by lecturers employed at UIN Alauddin Makassar. Therefore, they do not find many references of this term created by themselves for language instructions or even for the other people citations. In fact, based on writer’s personal experiences as some years contracted lecturer and new permanent lecturer now at UIN Alauddin Makassar, in Tarbiyah and Teacher Training department, lacking of appropriate books of teaching techniques in speaking strongly fulfill students’ needs, lecturers’ input, and reference for academic purpose through communicative, creative, inspiring as well as connected to real life.
Interestingly, this book is executed communicatively and systematically. First, most teaching techniques book only outline general topic or combining term such as receptive skill and productive skill. This book, in difference, explains how to manage the class creatively, designing the materials, specific teaching techniques, elaborating speaking with the other materials, topics to choose, and how to assess speaking progress. This book tends to answer students’ and lecturers’ needs of English particularly the EFL learners and lecturers of UIN Alauddin Makassar towards the techniques of handling speaking class. Hence, this book will be explored through interactive explanation; text pictures, simple explanation, integrated with the other discussions which are contributed one another.
